Abstract

The Capital Markets Union (CMU) is a significant initiative aimed at integrating capital markets across the European Union (EU) to enhance financial stability and economic growth. This paper investigates the objectives, impacts, and challenges of the CMU, with a focus on its role in fostering economic integration, improving access to finance for businesses, and supporting investor protection. By reviewing relevant literature and policy outcomes, this study provides a thorough analysis of CMU’s achievements and areas needing improvement. The paper concludes by suggesting directions for future research, especially in relation to the CMU's effectiveness in achieving its goals and addressing emerging challenges in the European financial landscape
